Summary

This standard identifies the minimum job performance requirements for career and volunteer fire fighters whose duties are primarily structural in nature.

This course is designed to prepare the participant to be able to perform firefighting functions at an intermediate level meeting minimum national standard according to NFPA 1001. The student will be able to identify safe working practices. The student will be able to demonstrate skills in search and rescue, ladders, fire control, public safety, forcible entry, ropes, and fire department communications. Students will take an accredited exam and be required to participate in accredited practical skill examinations.

Accreditations

Program components provide students with recognition for several essential fire services certifications. These courses adhere to the standards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are accredited by The Pro Board.

Upon successful completion of the program students will receive the College of the Rockies Fire Training certificate along with a host of ProBoard-accredited certificate including NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 1 and 2, including NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certification.
